Soap Box Derby Race divisions

Stock Division: First-time participants must be 8 years old by the date of the local or rally race and must not turn age 14 before the July Championship race in Akron, 2008.

Super Stock Division: First-time participants must be 10 years old by by the date of the local or rally race and must not turn age 18 before the July Championship race in Akron, 2008.

Masters Division: First-time participants must be 10 years old by by the date of the local or rally race and must not turn age 18 before the July Championship race in Akron, 2008.

Super Kids Division: Kids, ages 8 to 18 years, with a documented medical condition that does not allow them to compete in the above divisions can race in a specially designed car built to accommodate two children. Each child that participates in the race is accompanied by an experienced Soap Box Derby driver who pilots the car.

Adult Super Stock Division: Participants must be 18 years old or older.

Mini Grand Prix Race classes

The field of cars in the Mini Grand Prix will be divided into two classes:

• IRL (Indy Racing League) 
• F1 (Formula One)

Teams will be placed in the appropriate class based on racing experience, number of years in the event and past racing performances.
